Event Description

UPDATE, March 10, 2010: You can catch the online archive of our #pbcamp2 conversations at this post.

In this second coming of Personal Brand Camp we want to focus on answering your top 20 Questions.

Here is the format that we are planning:

3 pm - Welcome & Opening Comments
Personal Brand through Personal Experience - Joe Thornley

3:20 pm - Learning from pbCamp1, introduction of new format - Connie Crosby

3:30 pm - 20 Questions about Personal Brand: Mentor Round tables.

We are looking for 20 mentors who will lead groups of 4 to 6 participants through 5 to 7 min briefings targeted at a pre-assigned question about the challenges of developing an online identity, followed by a 7 to 10 min Q&A.

Participants will move to cover several questions/round tables.

5:00 pm - Conclusions - facilitated by Connie Crosby

5:30 pm - Mixer leading into Third Tuesday featuring Mitch Joel keynote on Personal Brand NOTE: You must register for Third Tuesday separately.

Students will be provided with a networking opportunity and ad hoc opportunities to continue the conversation about online identity.

We sincerely thank Doug Wheler and the entire team at the Berkeley Church Theatre for donating the venue to support this great learning opportunity.

Sadly I just found out I am going to be out of town during this event. Have extra fun for me and feel free to talk about me in my absence.

Crap - just realized I have a faculty council meeting at UofT right at the same time. Have to head to that unfortunately - all the best to everyone. Looking forward to hearing what comes out of this experience!

I'm interested in learning how students are developing their personal brands. Do you think personal branding is important or just a passing trend? Will having a strong online brand give you an edge in your career search?

This event is an excellent idea. I'm volunteering as a mentor, which I hope won't require training in the PR field.

PS If this isn't the proper way to volunteer, please explain how.
